Milan are stepping up their attempts to sign Radja Nainggolan and Danilo D’Ambrosio, offering Bryan Cristante in exchange.

The Rossoneri are determined to strengthen the side over the January transfer window after their defeat to Inter left them with little hope of European qualification.

Belgian international midfielder Nainggolan has emerged as the top target after Cagliari patron Massimo Cellino said he’d be willing to release the player.

Italian-Canadian 18-year-old midfielder Cristante has reportedly been included as part of an exchange deal to lower the price-tag.

According to Italian newspapers, Milan could sell one of Alessandro Matri, Philippe Mexes or Robinho in order to raise the necessary funds.

Meanwhile, Roma, Juventus, Inter and Napoli are also awaiting developments over Nainggolan’s future.

The Rossoneri are targeting other January reinforcements, namely Torino full-back D’Ambrosio.

He has been frozen out of the squad after refusing to sign a contract extension, as he’ll be a free agent in June and must therefore be sold now.

However, Milan face competition here too, as Inter have suddenly surged forward in their attempts to sign D’Ambrosio after Roma fell back in the transfer race.
