Andrea Poli scored with a screamer, but Milan’s defensive frailties were clear again in a 2-1 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais.

There were 25,000 supporters at the Stade de Gerland for the French side’s first home game of the season.

M’Baye Niang drilled just wide, but moments later Lyon broke the deadlock with Nabil Fekir’s free kick. This means Milan have gone behind first in every single friendly so far this summer.

Alex also went close, his deflected effort looping on to the crossbar, but Diego Lopez came to the rescue when Cristophe Jallet was sent clear one-on-one.

Poli drew the Rossoneri level 16 minutes from time thanks to a scorching right-foot finish from 20 metres.

They could’ve turned it around moments later, as Poli was just unable to turn in Alessandro Matri’s assist.

However, Lyon restored their advantage with Alexandre Lacazette bursting through a gap in Milan’s central defence, leaving Cristian Zaccardo in his wake.
