This could have a knock-on effect for the transfer market, as Laporta has a strong rapport with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola.

“If Laporta wins the Barcelona Presidential election, there’d be a high chance of Pogba ending up at Barcelona,” Raiola told EFE this week.

Juventus have been adamant they won’t sell Pogba anyway, but this does make it less likely Raiola will push him towards Camp Nou.

However, there were also reports that Bartomeu's plan was to get Pogba in 2016.
