The Ligue 1 side demand €20m but the Rossoneri hope to finalise the deal a fee close to €15m.

Kabak’s price-tag could be even lower given that Shalke 04 sit last in the Bundesliga table and have not won a League game yet.

Hellas Verona’s Matteo Lovato is also being monitored by the Rossoneri.

Stefano Pioli’s side have only kept four clean sheets in 12 Serie A games so far this season. The Italian tactician had to deal with a minor injury of Alessio Romagnoli in November, while Matteo Gabbia and Simon Kjaer are currently out of action.

The Dane could make his return against Sassuolo this weekend.
