Milan legend Demetrio Albertini says the Rossoneri appear to be more serene than Inter and names his best combined midfield from the two Milan clubs.

Inter are one point off Serie A table leaders Milan with only two matches left before the Christmas break.

“I see serenity that comes from the compactness between the players, the coach and the club, both at Inter and Milan,” Albertini told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“However, I have the feeling there is more serenity among the Rossoneri.

“Milan deserve to be table leaders, but there is still uncertainty. The Rossoneri must believe in the Scudetto, the results are saying it. They are in the middle of an important path, they can’t stop even if tough moments come for everyone.”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could return to action against Sassuolo.

“It’s not enoguh to have him on the pitch, but he is vital, just as much as [Romelu] Lukaku at Inter. I hope the injury won’t reduce Ibra’s power. For a player of his age, injuries can have an impact, better not to forget that.”

Which is his best combined midfield from the two Milan clubs?

“[Franck] Kessie, [Ismael] Bennacer and [Nicolò] Barella.”

Tonali on the bench?

“Yes, for what we’ve witnessed so far. I’m not going to change my mind about him. He must improve in terms of self-confidence and it is right to wait for him. When I was a footballer they said foreign players needed time to settle in, the same must apply for a 20-year-old guy.”

Who will be the Serie A table leaders during the Christmas break?

“Inter have more experice, they are more structured, but Milan have something special. Just look at how they play. They often stay in their opponents’ half even if they don’t do a lot of ball possession. More than defending the Serie A leadership, Milan must defend their enthusiasm. If it happens, they can win.”
