Sven Botman has agreed personal terms with Milan, but Newcastle United, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur are still in the race to sign the Netherlands international and could put a higher offer on the table for Lille.

Botman’s agents met Milan directors at the club headquarters yesterday, reaching an agreement over a contract of  €2.5m per season plus bonus. The 22-year-old is keen to join the Rossoneri and has recently revealed that he is ready to take a step forward in his career at the end of the season.

However, Milan must reach an agreement with Lille, who value their star defender at €30m. According to Tuttomercatoweb and Milan News, the Diavoli are unwilling to offer more than €25m ,including add-ons, so the race to sign Botman is still wide open.

Juventus have been linked with securing the defender’s services, but Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United seem to have more chances than the Bianconeri given that they can afford a higher off for Lille.

The situation could change if Juventus sell Botman’s compatriot Matthijs de Ligt in the summer. Chelsea are strongly interested in the former Ajax man and De Ligt will have a €125m clause included in his contract starting from July.
