Dejan Kulusevski says Antonio Conte expects him to help Tottenham’ especially in attack’ and insists it’s not easy to adapt to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old spoke to Sky Sport Italia the day after Tottenham’s 3-2 loss over Southampton. He explained the differences between Serie A and Premier League and discussed Conte’s reaction after his first home defeat in league games in the last 16 months.

“He was really upset, like each one of us,” admitted Kulusevski.

“Tottenham target is to get in the top four. It’s hard, but we must believe and not lose games like yesterday. I believe in it. There is an excellent team here.”

The Sweden international moved to North London from Juventus in the January transfer window. He has signed for Tottenham in an initial loan deal until 2023, but Spurs can make his move permanent for €35m at the end of the end of the next campaign.

What’s the first thing that Conte told Kulusevski?

“The very first thing was welcome,” he said smiling.

“Then he said that he expects me to help him, especially in attack. He didn’t ask for anything special. I just need to work and look at what the others do to play regularly.

“It’s not easy to switch from Italy to England,” the former Parma and Atalanta starlet continued.

“I want to be happy on and off the pitch. If I am happy on the pitch, the rest will happen as a consequence.”
