According to reports in Italy, Milan could activate their clause to sign Pietro Pellegri permanently and loan him out in January.

The Diavoli met Pellegri’s agent Giuseppe Riso at Casa Milan today. Riso is also the representative of Sandro Tonali and Daniel Maldini.

Pellegri moved to San Siro from Monaco on an initial loan deal in the summer.

The Rossoneri have an option to make his move permanent for €6m and according to Calciomercato.com they could already activate it in January.

This despite Pellegri being struggling with injuries during his time with the Rossoneri.

The 20-year-old has only played 127 minutes across six games this term.

Torino are reportedly interested in loaning the player until June, but according to Sky Sport Italia, Sampdoria are also monitoring the former Genoa starlet.

Last week, La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the Rossoneri could sign Nantes striker Randal Kolo Muani to replace Pellegri in January.

Kolo Muani’s contract expires in June and Milan are reportedly leading the race to secure his services.

  1. €6m is a very good price for a striker like Pellegri. I mean Monaco payed €20m for him!

    Congrats Maldini.

  2. At that price it is clearly worth a shot. If he can stay fit we have a very talented forward for peanuts.

  3. @Milan Fan – couldn’t have said it better myself.

But I hope the kid has some better luck and can make a second go of his career. Still early so plenty of time and think Milan would be able to get their money back at that price because some other club will think he’ll still come good at 22/24 etc

It’s Monaco that took the big hit

  4. It does make you wonder what Monaco know, to be willing to take a 14M Euro loss. Surely they would want to keep him and take the gamble ?

  5. Since joining Milan in July, Pellegrini has suffered 4 different injuries. The latest being an injury that not only has he suffered before, but it is also directly linked to the groin issues that he had throughout his time at Monaco. Regrettably when it comes to his groins and abductors, the kid just doesn’t seem to be made for the strains of everyday training and top level football.

For nearly 4 years now, Pellegrini is either getting fit returning from injury, trying to get match fit when returning from injury or recuperating post yet another injury.

  6. @Rosario: Thanks for providing the details, sad story indeed.

In this case, I`m not sure milan would activate that option.

  7. @I MISS JUVENTUS IN SERIE B 🤡

Colombo is developing nicely at Spal. I’d be happier that money is put into offering him a longer and improved contract, and using the rest on the much needed contract extensions.
