Sinisa Mihajlovic reveals Bologna‘s Nicola Sansone and Adama Soumaoro are not available for tomorrow’s match against Cagliari because they still don’t have the so-called ‘Green Pass.’

The Green Pass is mandatory for Serie A players starting from today and is available after 15 days from the first jab.

Sansone didn’t want to get vaccinated but had to do it last week, not soon enough to get the COVID certificate, which is called ‘Green Pass’ in Italy.

“Both he and Soumaoro are out because they don’t have the Green Pass,” Mihajlovic said at a press conference.

Bologna’s game against Cagliari was moved from Sunday to Tuesday as Bologna had been ordered into quarantine for five days last week.

They now have five players positive for COVID and hoped that the game against Cagliari was rescheduled to a later date as they could not train while in quarantine. Both Cagliari and Bologna are not involved in European competitions, so the Rossoblu believe there was no rush to reschedule the game.

“We have to see who will be available for the match,” said Mihajlovic.

“Dominguez and Viola have recovered, but there some players are still positive.

“We have no excuses, this group is extraordinary and the players have already proved their human qualities.

“Some Primavera players should have joined the senior team, but they also tested positive. Nevertheless, I am confident that we’ll put in a great performance.

“We’ll have 11 players and some subs available, I hope it will be enough. We must prove to be a marvellous group.”

Serie A approved a new COVID protocol last week stating that games must go ahead if 13 players are fit, including one goalkeeper.

Clubs can pick players from their first team and Primavera team provided that footballers are born before December 31, 2003, and tested negative at least 24 hours before the game.

“These are the rules, but 13 players would have been enough 40 years ago, now there are seven substitutions. Perhaps, we should play seven-a-side football,” the former defender concluded.
