Sinisa Mihajlovic can’t confirm he’ll be at Milan next season but “I won’t resign. I never have, I never will”.

It appears increasingly likely the Serbian will be sacked at the end of the season, and he hinted several times in his pre-match Press conference that he may only be at San Siro until the summer.

It appears increasingly likely the Serbian will be sacked at the end of the season, and he hinted several times in his pre-match Press conference that he may only be at San Siro until the summer.

“I can’t confirm myself, but I won’t resign,” Mihajlovic told the assembled media.

“I never have and I never will, that much is certain. To have a clean conscience and be safe in the knowledge that you’v tried everything is the key thing, but then maybe it isn’t enough like maybe it was somewhere else.

“These things don’t depend on me. I can’t confirm myself, but nor can I sack myself because it doesn’t depend on me.”

Does that mean that everything is up for discussion at the end of the season?

“If I get to the end of the season!” Mihajlovic laughed.

“Clubs plan things well before the end of the season, and every club has its own difficulties. You can’t plan for the future with a Coach who might not be there. These are things the club are experts in.

“I speak with [Adriano] Galliani about football and the transfer market, but also a lot of other things.

“It’s not the case at Milan, but I’ve been in clubs where they start the transfer campaign in March, or clubs where they start the transfer campaign in June.

“We have clear ideas with Galliani, we’ll see what happens.”

Galliani said yesterday that Mario Balotelli must show more for Milan to buy him permanently, and the Coach says it’s down to the hierarchy.

“You’d have to ask the club. Galliani says that for now he doesn’t deserve to stay, and at the moment I think that’s normal.

“If he has a chance to play, he has to make the most of it. If the confirmation comes it’s down to Balotelli and the club, then the Coach comes last and can give his OK.

“Will he play tomorrow? It could be a great opportunity for him, as for everyone else. Balotelli knows he has to take advantage of these last seven or eight games, regardless of how many minutes he plays.

“That goes for him and everyone else.”

It has been suggested that 18-year-old Manuel Locatelli could play against Juventus tomorrow, could he face the Bianconeri?

“If [Riccardo] Montolivo doesn’t play, then Locatelli will play,” Mihajlovic confirmed.

“If I see a player who gives me guarantees then I like to put them on the pitch. To give someone a debut in such an important match you have to know the lad too.

“Maybe Locatelli isn’t best-prepared, but he’s a great prospect. Hopefully Riccardo plays, but if he doesn’t Locatelli will and there will be no problem.”

Finally, Mihajlovic was asked whether he was envious of the way Juventus are run behind the scenes.

“I’m not inside the club. For sure Juventus are an example for everyone, also because they have a stadium which they own and it helps them a lot.

“It would be nice if all teams in Italy had the style they have in England, but here there’s bureaucracy which makes everything slower.”
