The Rossoneri patron has aimed jabs at the Coach throughout the season, but an 11-game unbeaten run in all competitions seems to have strengthened the Serbian’s hand.

“I have a good relationship with the President,” Mihajlovic assured in his Press conference ahead of the Coppa Italia semi-final with Alessandria.

“We’re both outspoken men. I have affection for him, but of course we can’t always agree on everything.

“At the end of the day, I listen to him but I’m the Coach and I make my own choices.

“He’s never forced me to do something I don’t feel like doing, and I’ve always had his full confidence. I thank him for that.

“Then maybe there are some choices we don’t agree on, but we have a common goal to take this team to the maximum level possible and achieve Milan’s goals.

“I try to please him.”

Alessandria are reportedly bringing 60 busloads of supporters for tomorrow’s game, and Mihajlovic called on the Diavolo fans to turn up too.

“The fans will be there, I know there will be a lot of children. There will be 15,000 opposition fans, and there will also be our fans.

“The more fans there are the better, but we’re not focused on these things.”

Young midfielder Jose Mauri has struggled for playing time this season, could he feature tomorrow?

“Let’s see,” Mihajlovic replied.

“We have another training session. I’d like to play everyone, but unfortunately the rules are we can only have 11 players.”
