Napoli boss Sarri has been given a two-game ban for launching alleged homophobic comments at his Inter counterpart, causing a media storm both in Italy and abroad.

“Since I’ve been on the bench I’ve had problems, but mainly with water bottles!” Mihajlovic joked in his Press conference ahead of the Empoli game.

“All joking aside, I know both of them and Sarri is not a racist, but he was wrong and he’s said so himself.

“We Coaches have a duty to lead by example, even if the tension can lead you to say things you otherwise wouldn’t.

“Mancini went public with everything that happened, I’d have handled it differently, but we have to take into account the sensitivities of others.

“It was an ugly episode, but I think it’s over now and we can think about football.”

Mihajlovic was also asked about Luiz Adriano, who has been called-up for tomorrow’s game after seeing a move to China collapse this week.

“As a Coach, I’m happy that he’s still with us. It was a transfer that would have been very advantageous for the club and for him, but it didn’t go through.

“He trained with us today, and he’ll be with us tomorrow.

“We’re finally getting everyone back, but [Mario] Balotelli and [Kevin-Prince] Boateng aren’t at full fitness.

“They could be useful during the match though.”
