Rade Krunic will reportedly start over Ismael Bennacer for Milan against Sampdoria this evening as the Algeria international is not fully fit.

Both players have been included in the travelling squad by Stefano Pioli, but according to Sky Sport Italia and MilanNews, it will be Krunic to start in the middle of the park alongside Sandro Tonali.

Bennacer was expected to start, but according to the report, he isn’t fully fit yet, so Pioli will rest him for the Rossoneri’s opener at the Stadio Marassi against Sampdoria this evening.

The 23-year-old tested positive for COVID at the end of July and is still not ready to play for the entire game.

Bennacer should start the game on the bench, but Pioli is already facing issues in the middle of the park as Franck Kessié will miss the game with a muscle injury that will keep him out of action for a few weeks.

Tommaso Pobega is available for the game against Sampdoria, but he is not expected to start as he could leave the club during the last week of the summer transfer window.

New signings Alessandro Florenzi, Olivier Giroud, Mike Maignan and Fodé Ballo-Touré have also been included in the squad list for this evening’s match.
