Crotone sporting director Beppe Ursino confirms Milan are interested in Junior Messias, but denies a meeting with the Rossoneri.

The Brazilian forward has emerged as one of the Diavoli’s targets to replace Hakan Calhanoglu, who has joined Inter as a free agent.

“Milan are interested in signing him, and so are other Serie A clubs,” Ursino told Ok Calciomercato.

“Messias will leave Crotone this summer, but there is nothing concrete yet, I haven’t met Milan,” he added.

Messias, 30, played his first-ever Serie A campaign last term, scoring nine goals and delivering four assists in 36 appearances with Crotone.

That was not enough for the Rossoblu to secure Serie A survival. Messias’ contract with the ‘Sharks’ expires in June 2024, but he won’t remain at Crotone for so long.

Milan are on the lookout for a creative midfielder or a support striker who can replace Calhanoglu.

Meantime, Pietro Pellegri is set to join the Diavoli on an initial loan deal from Monaco with an option to buy.

Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko is also expected to return to Milan on loan.

  1. Milan are looking at him for the right-wing in case Castillejo leaves, which I fully support. Anyone is better than Castillejo.

Meanwhile, our search for the attacking midfielder continues.
