Weston McKennie’s father, John, mocks ‘couch pundits’ after seeing his son provide two assists in Juventus‘ 2-2 draw against Atalanta on Sunday.

USMNT star McKennie has played a key role at the Allianz Stadium this season, providing nine assists in 27 appearances across all competitions. Seven of his nine assists came in Serie A matches.

McKennie left his mark in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Atalanta, providing assists for Andrea Cambiaso and Arek Milik.

He even played with a brace to protect his shoulder after suffering an injury against Frosinone two weeks earlier.

The midfielder’s father commented on his son’s performance on X, formerly Twitter, saying that McKennie risked suffering another injury and mocked the so-called couch pundits.

“He puts it on the line risking further injury and it’s still not enough for the couch pundits,” wrote McKennie’s father.

McKennie returned to Juventus last summer after a one-year loan spell at Leeds United in the second part of 2022-23. His contract at the Allianz Stadium runs out in June 2025.
