Inter director Beppe Marotta will tip his hat to Milan if they take the Scudetto and assures they ‘want to continue’ with Chelsea target Ivan Perisic.

With Milan’s 2-0 victory over Atalanta, it means if the Nerazzurri don’t beat Cagliari this evening, the Rossoneri will be the new Champions of Italy.

“The good news is that it’s a very exciting campaign in Serie A and that is positive for all of Italian football,” Marotta told DAZN.

“We can only go along our path. If they do better, then they have done better, that’s all there is to it.”

Cagliari have plenty to play for too, as they will climb out of the relegation zone with a win.

“This has always been a difficult arena to play in, the fans are passionate, but we are accustomed to this sort of pressure and the result will depend only on us.”

There was tension after Inter won the Coppa Italia Final 4-2 in extra time against Juventus with a Perisic brace, as the Croatia international complained there was a lack of respect in leaving his contract talks to the last moment.

“When the season has concluded, we will discuss all the situations that are still in the balance, including this one, with all due respect for the professionalism of this very talented player.

“We will sit around a table and together make the best decision. As far as we are concerned, we certainly want to continue with him.”

Perisic might not be too convinced, as he reportedly has an offer from Chelsea to join them as a free agent when his deal expires on July 1.
