Former Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio is searching for the Bianconeri DNA in the current squad and doesn’t believe in a massive comeback from Massimiliano Allegri’s men. ‘It looks like Luigi Delneri’s year’.

Max Allegri returned to replace Andrea Pirlo at the helm, but has struggled to turn things around and the Old Lady is currently trailing leaders Napoli and Milan by 16 points.

Capello: ‘I told Allegri to snub Juventus return’

Marchisio said the Juventus DNA has gone missing and recalls the 2010-11 season under Delneri, when the team finished seventh in Serie A with 15 wins, 13 draws and 10 defeats.

In 2015-16, Juventus were 10th in the League after 11 games and ended up winning a domestic double, but Marchisio can’t see the same happening in 2021-22.

“I see no similarities with 2015-16, the season of the great comeback,” Marchisio told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Rather 2010-11 comes to mind, the year in which we arrived seventh. When you enter a negative spiral, it’s not easy to get out of it.

“The squad is not bad, but there’s no identity, the game is not yet seen: we need a shock.”
