“The team is relaxed,” assured the Coach after falling against Milan and Roma.

“We were downbeat after the 3-0 at Milan, but in the last few days the lads have been calm, fully aware they put in a good performance against Roma.

“There were some problems in the opening 10 minutes at the Olimpico, but then we were able to play well. It was only unfortunate that we had to concede another defeat.

“I looked at the statistics for Serie A and Palermo were the team who had the most shots on goal in the last round.”

If the Sicilians are struggling for results, then Thursday's opponents Lecce are distraught, especially after fumbling a 3-0 lead against Milan to lose 4-3.

“Up until now Lecce have done better on their travels, where they picked up all four of their points, so they are coming here to get a result and we are ready for them,” added Mangia.

There have been reports the last two setbacks have put the tactician's job on the line, so he was asked about notoriously trigger-happy President Maurizio Zamparini.

“I am concentrated only on the next game. I don't think about other things.”
