Is Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini hoping to replace the Italy-bound Carlos Tevez with Zlatan Ibrahimovic?

City are looking to strengthen over the summer after last night ensuring a top four finish and thus qualifying for next year's Champions League.

And they are being linked with a bid for Milan man Ibrahimovic this morning after Mancini seemingly made room for him in the side.

"If Zlatan wants to come to City, I would immediately find him a place," the tactician, who worked with Ibrahimovic at Inter, told the Sun.

The Swede, who has just won his eighth League title in a row, joined the Rossoneri on loan from Barcelona in the summer.

Milan will now have the option to sign him outright for €24m which may scupper any eventual bid from City.

Meanwhile, Mancini has also suggested that Tevez could be about to leave the Premiership for Serie A.

"Carlos told us back in December that he wants to go to Italy," Mancini noted in the Daily Star. "But if he changes his mind, I would be happy."

Inter are thought to be very keen on the Argentine international.

Meanwhile, the former Sampdoria player has rejected the possibility of selling Mario Balotelli just a year after his £24m arrival from Inter.

"He will definitely stay. Mario is an ongoing bet," the Coach continued.

"He has shown he has all the right qualities, but needs to do more, much more, to give a sense to his talent."
