Corriere della Sera reports Milan legend Paolo Maldini could be offered the role of the club’s vice presidency.

Despite having been touted for a position at the club numerous times in the past, it would be the former captain’s first involvement at San Siro since he retired from playing in 2009.

And despite Maldini recently stating that he would not be returning, the Rossoneri are reportedly intent on making him an offer he cannot refuse.

In a summer of sweeping changes at Milan, new owners Elliott Management are looking to fill several key positions behind the scenes.

Leonardo has already begun work as the Diavolo’s new general manager, while Ivan Gazidis is set to move from Arsenal to become the club’s new CEO.

He will be assisted Umberto Gandini, who will join from rivals Roma.

Meanwhile, talks are currently ongoing between Milan President Paolo Scaroni and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli.

The outcome of the meeting at Casa Milan is expected to be Mirabelli’s departure from the seven-time European champions.
