Adem Ljajic has left Fiorentina HQ and said goodbye to his teammates, as a move to Roma seems imminent.

The striker turned down the contract extension proposed to him last week, so will be sold this summer to avoid running down the deal until it expires in June 2014.

Milan were the front-runners for his signature, but the Viola were angered by their attempts to go through the player first.

It’s widely reported that Ljajic has said yes to Roma, where he will replace the Tottenham-bound Erik Lamela, for €10m plus €3m add-ons.

English media claim Liverpool are still keeping track of the situation, but Ljajic does appear to be very close to the Giallorossi at this time.

Fiorentina are expected to make a statement later today with general manager Sandro Mencucci.
