Tensions are high after Reds supported Sean Cox was assaulted before the first leg, with a heavy police presence in the Italian capital today.

So far though there have been no signs of trouble, and the English supporters took a good-natured dig at the Giallorossi.

Fans drinking in the city centre cut off a song about Steven Gerrard to sing “we love you Lazio, we do”, to laughter from their fellow supporters.

Liverpool are training at the Biancocelesti’s Formello centre ahead of the match, on the pitch named for Mirko Fersini, a Lazio youth player who died in a car crash in 2012.
