La Dea are ready to try and repeat a near-impossible feat as they travel to the North West of England to face the Reds in their last-eight tie in the Europa League, has been assigned to officiate the Europa League quarter-final battle between at Anfield.

When Liverpool and Atalanta last met in the Champions League group stage in 2020, the Reds cruised to a 5-0 win in Bergamo but suffered a 2-0 loss at Anfield, a game that’ll surely prove inspirational to Gian Piero Gasperini and his squad.

Officiating the Europa League quarter-final clash between Liverpool and Atalanta is 37-year-old Turkish referee Halil Umut Meler. An official on the rise, his most prestigious games so far include the 2022 Turkish Cup final and 2022 Turkish Supercup.

Meler has never overseen either the Reds or la Dea in the past, but has experiences with teams from both countries including Manchester City, Arsenal, Milan and Juventus.
