Marcello Lippi admits he has doubts over the identity of Milan’s prospective new Chinese owners and what it means for their “strong group of Italians”.

Milan beat Juventus on penalties with a team made up of several young players last week to win the Supercoppa, but that all could change once Sino-Europe Sports complete their expected takeover of the Rossoneri.

“They all thought Juve [would win], but Milan did what they could and should have,” the Coach told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Montella was decisive. He gave the team tactical coordinates and security. Milan never give away the ball, they have precise points of reference and well-defined characteristics.

“Chinese? Everyone knows who Suning is, it’s a giant, but no-one knows anything about Milan’s [potential] owners. Nothing. Only now are some names coming out.”
