The Nerazzurri sit 18 points behind the Old Lady in 11th, while the Bianconeri are once again top of the pile.

However, Lippi who has spent time on the bench of both clubs believes that the result is not a foregone conclusion.

“[Roberto] Mancini has made a breakthrough at Inter, and the team is improving. They waver between good times and less good, but they now have more enthusiasm, a new motivation.

“The second half against Lazio, for example, was remarkable. Inter reacted to being two goals down with a crazy level of anger and venom, and the cure came from Mancio.

“I can put myself in his shoes, he doesn’t have a magic wand but he has already put the team back on track.

“The new Inter should not be taken lightly, they’re to be feared even if they’re still uneven. The match will be very important for the League position of both teams, and psychologically for the Nerazzurri in particular.

“Inter can still fight for third place in the League, like Napoli, Milan and Fiorentina.

“Can Inter win against Juventus? Yes, but Juve are stronger, and have grown a lot in recent months.

“They’re wiser, and have even more personality, the game with Atletico Madrid was an example of that.

“At home against one of the best teams in Europe, they played with a mastery that suggests they can improve in the coming months.

“[Juventus Coach Massimiliano] Allegri’s style is less gritty and fierce than [Antonio] Conte’s, there’s a different tactical approach, it’s more thoughtful, with less quick forward balls and more possession.

“But the hunger of the group has not been reduced by one iota. Tactically, the changes Allegri has introduced, including the formation have made Juve more complete, more European.

“They can get their hands on the League title, and continue to make headway in the Champions League.”
