Napoli risk being priced out of the race for Angers SCO and Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, as it’s reported Leeds United have offered €25m.

The 22-year-old was a revelation at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which saw Morocco become the first ever African nation to reach the semi-finals.

His contract runs to June 2026, but Angers are struggling badly in Ligue 1 and cannot hope to keep hold of him.

Napoli had reportedly been prepared to bid circa €19m including bonuses and leave Ounahi on loan in France until the end of the season.

However, Telefoot claim that Leeds United have now entered the race and are comfortably out-bidding Napoli with €25m on the table.

The situation is also complicated by reports that Ounahi is on the verge of hiring a new agent to represent him.

Barcelona and Almeria are among the other clubs interested, while Olympique Marseille have been in preliminary talks.

  1. This would be a good signing although I hope we sign a decent striker and possible Lb at least we’re spending money I will only believe anything of it when the players have signed for us WDGAF ALAW

  2. Apparently, his form in the World Cup was unexpected by everyone… so there is absolutely no guarantee that he will reproduce it on a regular basis.
