Lazio are set to activate their option to buy midfielder Romulo from Genoa, for a reported fee of around €2m.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Biancocelesti have decided to purchase the 32-year-old outright after his arrival on loan from the Grifone in January.

The former Juventus man joined at the end of the winter transfer window and has made 12 competitive appearances for the capital club, playing in both legs of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Milan.

The Brazil-born utility man arrived in the Peninsula in 2011 when he signed for Fiorentina, before heading to Hellas Verona two years later.

After his time in Verona, he had one season with the Old Lady, in which he played just five times.
