Lazio are reportedly chasing Norwegian striker Erik Botheim, who tortured rivals Roma for Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League.

Botheim hit the headlines when Bodo/Glimt hammered Roma 6-1 in the Conference League, then drew 2-2 at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 21-year-old was one of the stars of those two games, contributing three goals and three assists.

According to Calciomercato.com, Botheim attracted the attention of the other Capital club in Italy, as Maurizio Sarri sees him as a valid alternative to Ciro Immobile.

Vedat Muriqi simply has not fulfilled expectations after his €20m transfer and dropped even further down the pecking order under Sarri.

Curiously, Roma have also been linked with a possible swoop for Botheim, in the ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ approach to the transfer market that Milan already took when signing Jens Petter Hauge from Bodo/Glimt last season.

So far this season, Botheim has six goals and six assists in 12 competitive games for the Norwegian club.
