Former Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski doesn’t know what went wrong with Massimiliano Allegri in Turin, but is happy at Tottenham: ‘Premier League is another sport.’
The Sweden international moved to North London on an initial loan deal with an option to buy in January.
Tottenham will pay €10m for the player’s 18-month loan and can make his move permanent in 2023 for a further €35m.
Kulusevski had joined Juventus on a permanent €44m deal, including add-ons in 2020. He had a decent first season under Andrea Pirlo but struggled with playing time under Allegri this term.
What didn’t work out for him in Turin this season?
“Honestly, I don’t know. Sometimes it happens in football. I didn’t find enough space and I could not accomplish what I had inside myself,” the 21-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
“Life goes on. I’ve had many beautiful moments, especially last season. We had a nice end to the campaign winning the Coppa Italia against Atalanta.”
Juventus won the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana at Juventus in 2020-21 and scored a goal in the Final against Chelsea. However, he has already moved on and is looking forward to getting more Premier League experience.
“I am a Tottenham player now and I am happy,” he said.
“Premier League is another sport. There’s more intensity and physicality. It’s almost like there are no fouls here.”
