There are reports basketball star Kobe Bryant could be one of the new investors in Serie B club Bologna.

The LA Lakers shooting guard is a big fan of Italian football and tweeted enthusiastically during the World Cup.

He confessed this summer to having a particular fondness for the Azzurri and AC Milan, visiting the Milanello training ground (as seen in the picture from acmilan.com).

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport today, Bryant is preparing to invest in Serie B side Bologna.

The club is in advanced negotiations for a buy-out from American lawyer Joe Tacopina, who had previously been linked with Roma.

It’s believed the overall transaction will cost €20m.

Other investors include Montreal Impact owner Joey Saputo.
