According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Franck Kessié could leave Milan in January with PSG and Liverpool interested.

The Ivorian star sees his contract expire in June 2022, so, starting from next January, he can sign a pre-contract agreement with any other club ahead of a free summer move.

Milan have reportedly offered Kessié a new €6.5-a-year deal, but the former Atalanta man has requested an €8m contract.

Therefore, the Rossoneri are considering accepting offers for the 24-year-old in January, not to see him leave on a free transfer like Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Kessié’s highs and lows during the first months of the season also convince Milan to consider a sale for the former Atalanta man.

The next few meetings with the player’s agent George Atangana will be crucial to understand if Kessié wants to stay at Milan or is seeking a summer exit.

PSG and Liverpool are reportedly interested in the 24-year-old and the next few months will be crucial to figure out what the future has in store for the midfielder.

  1. I have no sympathy for any of the guys who are acting like this. Have to remember NO PLAYER is ever gonna be bigger than the club. In a time like this where we need structural stability as a club, we don’t need this toxicity.
I mean after all this drama, even if Kessie renews and stays it still shows his motivation to stay was the €€. Ideally, sell this guy in january and get a decent enough replacement cause like the recent performances Kessie is reminding me more and more of Biglia.
Real love for the club is very very rare these days so it should be reciprocated by the club.

  2. I was thinking about this last night – on his current form he is dreaming (well, more his agent is) if he thinks Liverpool would go beyond having a look at him, and even on last seasons form he’s a fringe player at a club with genuine CL aspirations. Maybe La Gazzetta got confused and it was Everton?

If he’s smart (and lets be fair to the guy, he’s a young man taking advice from a ruthless businessman) I think he’ll sign when push comes to shove.

If he gets his head back on what matters he could be a catalyst of this exciting new era.

Maldini&Co – dig your heels in on the wages and give him a deadline. He’s great and can get better, but far from big enough to bully our mighty club!

  3. Well said ragazzi! And yes @papa frezz was thinking that same thing last night, give him a deadline. Already seems past that point of deadline though as should have been in time for last summer’s transfer window. But have to work with what we have now.

The line is in the sand. 2 months on…he has already betrayed the club, the mgmt, the fans, his team mates…everyone concerned and in love with Milan. Many have already cut him loose. It will take a lot to turn things around to be honest. Doesn’t deserve that “President” tag anymore, it’s shameful.

“I’m proud to have chose Milan and it is not my intention to leave. Indeed, I want to stay forever.

“When I come back from the Olympics, I’ll fix everything,” he said. “I just want Milan. Sporting director Paolo Maldini knows my thoughts.

“I want to be the ‘President’ of Milan for life.”

  4. This is for the best. Just let them mercenaries go. We’ll be fine.

    Self proclaimed president my ass.

  5. My wish is to have the player back we had last year in Kessie . Keep in mind if we wish to play at all levels , cups and leagues , we are looking at a heavy load of games . Say Kessie leaves and Tonali gets hurt . I don’t think a single one of our CM’s were available for all games last year , Kessie played the most . Call him whatever you want there are some big shoes to fill. Clubs will take a risk on him , he is only 24 and showed great maturity on the pitch .
On a broader note this seems to be a trend at Milan , they need to get to the root of why they are deliberating this way in the final year . Either sell a player year 2 or make a commitment to keep them . Sounds easy but they have to move toward a solution . I am sick of watching key players do this dance and drag our great club through the mud. Destabilizes the team , and things slide from there .

  6. I just don’t want another key player to leave for nothing. All the talk about the badge, the club, wanting to stay forever.. If you don’t mean that, fine, but don’t then leave the club in deficit. The club that stuck with him when he could barely make his way into a substitute appearance and invested in him and his future.

  7. Very rare that its not about money. Tonali being an example but he is the exception to the rule. That’s why the best players are going to PSG and Man City. Milan will have to pay good players a competitive wage, otherwise, we will lose key players every summer. There is a deal to be done with Kessie and we should do it quickly.

@Acemilan Completely agree, management needs to sort this contract situation out. We cannot keep losing players for nothing. Better to give them a higher wage, 4 year contract and then sell after 2 years.

  8. This is the best Milan team in over a decade and this is without the so called key players like Calha and Donna, so that means we are not missing them with the fact that we didn’t even replace Calha. Get anything we can get from him in January, 10M, 20M whatever, just let him go, the team wont colapse if he leave, from 2.5 to 6.5 and you are sill refusing when you barely have a decent 1 season in your 4 season contract ? please go.

  9. Milan should just offload this guy in January to avoid him going for free like those 2 Judas. Milan will move forward with or without him! I don’t like when players are over-convinced to stay.
