Juventus defender Danilo dedicates Brazil’s World Cup victory over South Korea to Pele and admits he is not behind their elaborate dance routines.

The Seleçao emerged with a comfortable 4-1 win to set up their quarter-final date with Croatia.

“It was a great performance, we had to be aggressive, keep possession and continue to be positive,” Danilo told RAI Sport.

“We are happy with the win, but now need to recuperate because the next game will be really difficult.”

At the final whistle, Danilo and Neymar walked onto the pitch with a large banner depicting legend Pele, who was watching the match from a hospital bed.

His daughter gave an update today and fortunately his condition is far less serious than had been previously reported.

“Pele is our King and we wish him all the best.”

Brazil turned on the style against South Korea, but were also accused of perhaps insulting their opponents with elaborate dance routines after every goal, one of which also involved coach Tite.

“We have a lot of lads in the squad who love to dance and we more experienced figures try to follow their choreography,” smiled the 31-year-old.

It is the Dança do Pombo (The Pigeon Dance).
