Brazil swept South Korea aside 4-1 to set up a World Cup quarter-final against Marcelo Brozovic’s Croatia, but Juventus defender Gleison Bremer was given a surprise new role.

The Seleçao did all the work in the first half, taking a 4-0 lead with Vinicius Junior, Neymar, Richarlison and former Milan midfielder Lucas Paquetá.

With the game clearly won, coach Tite started making substitutions including third choice goalkeeper Weverton for the final 10 minutes, meaning they are the first side to use all 26 players in a World Cup tournament.

Another interesting change saw Juventus centre-back Bremer replace his club teammate Danilo at the 72nd minute.

However, it was noted he was playing as a left-back, a completely new role for the former Torino star, but one that he might get to try out at Juventus if the injury emergency continues.

It was a bad night for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae, as South Korea were crushed in the first half, but they did get a consolation goal with a ferocious Seung-ho Paik strike from distance.
