Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly looking to sign Juventus full back Luca Pellegrini on loan to replace Filip Kostic.

The 23-year-old Italian was integrated into the Bianconeri first team last season under Massimiliano Allegri, but he failed to displace Alex Sandro in the starting lineup, limiting his opportunities on the pitch. Pellegrini only made 15 Serie A starts last campaign, playing 1113 minutes of action in total.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are now working to send Pellegrini to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan. It’s likely that this deal is related to the Bianconeri’s acquisition of Filip Kostic, and the move suggests that the Serbian will be playing in a deeper position in Allegri’s system.

Juventus signed Pellegrini in July 2019 from Roma in a deal that saw Leonardo Spinazzola move the other away. He spent time on loan with both Cagliari and Genoa before making his return to Turin last year. The 23-year-old has provided 10 assists across his 68 Serie A appearances.

  1. Why, why, why, why do Juve always have to ship out talented Italian players? First Spinazzola, and now Pellegrini? I don’t care which system Allegri uses at Juve, you cannot seriously tell me that Pellegrini is a liability at the moment, while Alex Sandro is not?

  2. What an absolute bonehead move. Young players are impossible under ALLEGRI. He prefers to play a more mature (29) player out of position than a young one in his natural role. Juve won’t make top 4 this year.

  3. This is why young Italian players should not go to Juve, lets pray Zaniolo has the sense to not go there.

  4. All ways stupid comments from people in here, please learn how foormtball works!
Nobody want to buy Sandro, so what exactly should Allegri do??
And to be fair Pellegrini has been a big disappointment for Juve, especially since we traded him for Spinazzola.
If Cuadrado can play RB then Kostic can also play LB, easy.

  5. Wasting Kostic as LB… You’d fit right in with Allegri’s staff with your great understanding of football.
