It was a busy day in Turin for Juventus with Angel Di Maria’s first press conference and Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic in Turin to meet the club over Matthijs de Ligt.

El Fideo addressed the media in his first press conference as a Juventus player. The Argentinean revealed that Benfica were the only other club that approached him after the end of his contract with PSG, although the Bianconeri insisted for over 40 days, managing to reach an agreement with him.

Di Maria has signed a one-year deal at the Allianz Stadium but kept the door open for a second year at the club, saying that ‘things change quickly in football.’

While Di Maria was preparing to meet the media at the Allianz Stadium, Bayern director Salihamidzic arrived at Turin’s Caselle Airport to meet the Bianconeri and Matthijs de Ligt’s representative Rafaela Pimenta, who is in Turin following Paul Pogba’s return to the club.

The ex-Juventus winger met Juventus and the player’s representative, but the two clubs still haven’t reached an agreement over the defender’s transfer fee, sources told Football Italia.

Salihamidzic returned to Germany with a private flight from Caselle at 17.55 local time, saying that he is ‘always optimistic’ when asked about whether De Ligt would join the Bundesliga giants.

The Dutch centre-back is seeking Juventus exit and the Bavarians are leading Chelsea in the race to secure his signature.

Tuesday will be another big day for the Bianconeri as they will unveil Paul Pogba at 3pm local time.
