Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidzic said they are ‘always optimistic’ after a meeting with Juventus and Matthijs de Ligt’s agent in Turin.

The chief and former Juve player made a very brief trip to Piedmont by private jet today, greeted by reporters both on his arrival this afternoon and the departure from Caselle Airport.

In-between, he sat down with Rafaela Pimenta, the lawyer now representing Mino Raiola’s clients on the transfer market.

The asking price is €100m, as De Ligt has a €120m release clause in his contract, with Chelsea and Manchester City also interested.

“We are talking, but I can’t tell you anything,” said Salihamidzic to reporters, including our own Lorenzo Bettoni.

When asked if he was optimistic, he replied: “Always optimistic.”

Initial reports suggest there is still a big gap between the offer and demand, but this was an opening salvo in negotiations to prove Bayern’s determination and put them top of the queue for De Ligt.

  1. Hernandez is too big of a name to go to Juventus. They can have him but he will have to be on a free contract as Juve are not a club that can afford players from bigger teams.

  2. Rosario, don’t even give him a response. Clearly a troll with very little to offer beyond his ‘persona’

  3. @Rosario, don’t put attention to LORD ALLEGRI PATRON SAINT OF SLOW BALL. He is always making a fool of himself with his/her comments.

  4. Crissy the only fool is you and your boyfriend Red, or should I say your second username. Telling someone not to have an opinion is the language of the triggered woke. People are free and able to form opinions on their own whether you like it or not. If you knew anything about football LORD knows its Lucas Hernandez. He could be surplus to requirements if De Ligt were to join. You were probably thinking of Theo.
