The opening Bayern Munich offer for Matthijs de Ligt of €60m plus bonuses was rejected, but negotiations continue with Juventus, leaving behind Chelsea and Manchester City.

Bayern director Hasan Salihamidzic made a flying visit to Turin this afternoon, where he had meetings with both the Bianconeri and agent Rafaela Pimenta.

He has already returned to Munich, where he spoke to reporters and kept fairly tight-lipped.

“We talked, now we’ll see what happens. I would like to tell you more, but I can’t. The important thing is to talk, now we’ll see what comes from it.”

According to Bild in Germany, the initial offer made to Juventus is €60m plus up to €10m in various add-ons.

Italian sources state that has already been rejected, but the gap between demand and offer is perhaps not as big as some might think.

While Juve were demanding €100m from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, they realise Bayern Munich are not going to hit that figure.

Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains the deal could be struck for €75-80m plus bonuses that would reach €90m.

It’s still a considerable difference, but not as extreme as originally thought.

De Ligt has agreed personal terms with Bayern, said to be over €10m per season, and believes in the project at the Bundesliga club.

Talks are set to continue and this was only the starting step.

  1. wel all know he wont be sold for 90m euros or even more, we all know it end up being max 70m euros plus cash

  2. I said this many weeks ago. The will of the player is key and this club is a complete joke. Common sense would have been to gauge the situation. The Dutch Phil Jones wanted out and they were caught off guard again. Reminds me of Ronaldo last year. They were great under Lucky Luciano and knew when to sell, how to sell and most importantly how to compensate for losses (Zizou). Don Beppe also understood this, but when you have a team of bad chefs cooking and running a kitchen, you are not gonna get Michelin Star dishes. Instead you get cheap ready meals that are overpriced such as Pogback and a 34 years young winger. Great player by the way, but his career resume will be stained again (Juve + Man Utd).

  3. Sorry Lord, but you’re off track on this one. Pogba made his name at Juventus to the point where he became the world’s most expensive player so it’s no stain on his resume. We got him on a free so how is he overpriced? As for Don Beppe – he has made numerous mistakes when at Juve – Hernanes, Bendtner, Lucio, Zaza to name a few, and the biggest of all – being too cheap to purchase Verratti from Pescara for a miserly $12M – Marotta is no Lucky Luciano.

  4. 8m is definitely not overpriced for Pogba, actually a bargain for a free agent. He could earn more in other clubs.
5m for Dytraitor is overpriced, not to mention he demanded 10m.

  5. Not sure why Salihamidzic needed to fly to Turin for such a low offer. Seems like an email would have sufficed?

Jokes aside, I hope the board has the nuggets to ensure they get to €100 million. They don’t need to sell. If they don’t get an offer that comes close to that, they aren’t beholden to sell right now. De Ligt is a professional and he will play this season if he doesn’t leave.

  6. Juve should insist on at least 90m.
If they dont pay then dont sell.
Its all about who holds the power.
Also Chelsea could make that bid lets wait and see.
