France coach Didier Deschamps has called up Aston Villa’s Boubacar Kamara in place of Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot, who has been ruled out through injury.
The 27-year-old French midfielder was initially called up for France’s Nations League clashes against Austria and Denmark, but his presence was in doubt due to a recent calf injury, which forced him to miss the last two league games against Fiorentina and Salernitana. Rabiot was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer but ultimately remained with Juventus.
As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Rabiot has been removed from the France squad for this international break due to a left thigh issue, forcing Deschamps to call up Aston Villa midfielder Kamara in his place.
The Frenchman has not particularly convinced in Turin under Massimiliano Allegri, looking a little below the mark in the Bianconeri midfield.
Since his arrival in 2019, Rabiot has scored six goals and provided eight assists in 133 appearances.
