There are reports that Juventus are trying to prevent Roma from tying up a deal for Radja Nainggolan.

The Belgian midfielder is co-owned by the Giallorossi and Cagliari, and the Lupi yesterday met with the player’s agent to try to sort out a deal for the 26-year-old.

The capital club initially took Nainggolan on a €3m loan deal, before paying €6m for half of the player’s registration. It was expected that the Lupi would pay another €6m for the other half of Nainggolan’s registration, but it has been reported that Cagliari have raised their asking price.

The Corriere della Sera reports that Roma are close to securing a deal, but face a race against time to stop Juventus moving in.

The newspaper reports that the Bianconeri are working toward a deal for Cagliari’s half of Nainggolan, meaning that Roma would have to pay a premium to their Scudetto rivals if they want to take Belgian outright.
