The 21-year-old full-back has been thrust into the Granata side with the injuries to Cristian Molinaro and Danilo Avelar, and has impressed in his three Serie A appearances.

According to Tuttosport, three of Serie A’s biggest sides are keeping an eye on his situation, as his contract is due to expire in 2019.

Understandably, Toro are keen to tie him to a new contract, and the newspaper reports that negotiations are underway with his agent, Marcello Bonetto, for a five-year extension.

Barreca is currently earning around €100,000 per season, so he can expect a big wage increase.
