Juventus star Angel Di Maria is working intensively in training as he tries to recover in time for Argentina’s World Cup quarter-final against the Netherlands.

The match will be played on Friday at 19.00 GMT as the tournament continues in Qatar.

Argentina were given the day off following the 2-1 Round of 16 victory over Australia last night.

However, TyC Sports report that there was one player who remained to work on the training field and that was Di Maria.

He was forced to miss that knockout tie due to a muscular injury, which he picked up during the 2-0 group phase win over Poland on November 30.

Di Maria is desperate to get back in shape and be ready to start the quarter-final against the Netherlands.

His return is especially important considering that Papu Gomez, the former Atalanta player who started against Australia, has sprained his ankle.

It’s reported that Juventus midfielder Leandro Paredes could also get back into the starting XI to replace Enzo Fernandez.
