According to multiple reports in Italy, Juventus have decided against signing Miralem Pjanic and will struggle to secure Mauro Icardi’s services, so they could make a new attempt in January.

Massimiliano Allegri was pushing to signing a new central midfielder after Manuel Locatelli, but apparently, the Bianconeri won’t welcome anyone else on the deadline day.

Goal.com’s Romeo Agresti confirms Juventus have decided against welcoming Miralem Pjanic back to the club, despite the player’s desire to move to Turin.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pjanic was open to taking a pay cut to return to Juventus, but the Old Lady could only offer €3.5m net, while Barcelona don’t want to pay part of the midfielder’s wages during his loan spell in Turin.

Pjanic about Juventus return: ‘I really want to, but…’

Mauro Icardi is another player mentioned for Juventus, but PSG are not open to selling the former Inter captain, even if Kylian Mbappé won’t join Real Madrid.

Sky Sport Italia reports Juventus tried to sign Icardi on a one or two-year loan, but the Ligue 1 giants never opened the door to his exit.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri will make a new attempt to sign the Argentinean in January as the former Inter star may struggle with game time in Paris, given that Mbappé seems destined to stay in the French capital.

The Bianconeri have also secured the services of 19-year-old Mohamed Ihattaren from PSV, but the player will join Sampdoria on loan. That could be Juventus’ last signing in the summer transfer window.

9 thought on “Juventus make Pjanic decision, Icardi for January?”
  1. Allegri has 8 more weeks to convince me because I don’t understand why Ramsey, Bentancur & Bernardeschi are still with us.

  2. There is nothing Allegri could do with listed above because Ronaldo transfer saga drag far too long:(

  3. @Cypher they are still with Juventus because no one will pay a fee for them specially with those huge salaries. He cannot do magic against terrible management decisions. Club is to blame for no reinforcements, without Cristiano this year looks complicated for ruBe and looks like a UCL fight only

  4. It’s gonna be a bumpy year. Allegri not to blame . We’ve been holding on to dead weight players way to long, paying them way to much. Bad decisions biting juve in the butt

  5. Imagine keeping Ramsey for nothing and unable to get Pjanic. This board is a disaster

  6. It’s this ‘bargain buy’ strategy during these last 3-5 years of purchasing dead weight players from other clubs and offering them big salaries all coming to bite us… this is the second summer – if not third – now where we can’t offload anyone without taking a cut.

Case in point is buying back Kean – just crazy.

We could barely offload CR7 who – whether like him or hate him – is still a goal machine.

  7. Not sure what the old lady qre doing?

    Cavani from man u…
    Saul from atltico…

And Allegri is looking for a midfilder? Guys we dont think about CL anymore….itcis not ours to grab..sorry

  8. That’s disappointing, was hoping he would return. Disappointing he was transferred in the first place too.
