Juventus are interested in making a move to acquire former Milan midfielder Franck Kessie from Barcelona according to reports in Spain, but will face competition from a number of interested parties across Europe.

As reported by Spanish outlet Sport, Juve have set out on the trail to land Kessie in a quest to add another established midfielder to their ranks.

The Catalan giants are in desperate need of lowering their annual wage bill and a number of first team players could be set to depart Camp Nou in the summer in an attempt to raise much-needed funds.

However, there is wider interest in the Ivorian and Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly chasing him in the January transfer window.

Inter have also been widely reported to be interested in bringing Kessie back to the city of Milan, potentially as part of a swap deal that could involve Marcelo Brozovic moving in the other direction.

Sport claims that Juve could also offer some sort of player-plus-cash deal for Kessie’s signature, although a specific player has not yet been identified.

Any potential deal would have to be signed off by Barca coach Xavi and any player who moves to Catalonia as part of the deal would need to be a “functional” player, ready to make an impact in the first team.
