Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has reportedly started laying the groundwork for a move for Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.

The 25-year-old Dutchman again hit the headlines on Wednesday night after scoring a decisive brace in la Dea’s Coppa Italia win over Milan, further proving himself to be one of the most exciting midfielders in the Italian topflight.

Napoli were interested in making a move for Koopmeiners in the summer but Atalanta rejected a €48m offer for the 25-year-old, making clear that it would take a higher offer to pry the talented midfielder away from Bergamo.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Juventus director Giuntoli is seriously interested in bringing Koopmeiners to Turin in the summer and he’s already opened talks with Atalanta and the player ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Bianconeri can only make a deal if they manage to raise funds through player sales, giving Giuntoli some work to do before a move can be made.

This season, Koopmeiners has scored six goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.
