Juventus director Francesco Calvo says the Bianconeri will fine Paul Pogba and are ‘waiting for judgement’ in their appeal against a 15-point deduction.

The Serie A giants have formally filed an appeal against a point penalty imposed by the FIGC for financial irregularities in January.

Earlier this week, Lazio‘s TAR allowed the club’s lawyers to scrutinise a document that the FIGC Prosecutor had sent COVISOC in April 2021.

Reports in Italy suggest this step could help the Bianconeri win their appeal to CONI.

“It’s a document we’ve been asking for since the beginning. We don’t know what’s on it and we are waiting for a judgement,” Juventus CFO Calvo told Sky Sport Italia ahead of Thursday’s Europa League meeting with SC Freiburg in Turin.

The Bianconeri are without Pogba for tonight’s fixture. The French midfielder has been left out of the squad after arriving late for Wednesday’s retreat at the J Hotel.

“He arrived late, and players, especially the most important ones, must respect the rules. It was correct not to include him in the team and fine him,” said Calvo.

“It’s a pleasure to play a European fixture like this one and we’ll put in full commitment. It’s hard for the team to find motivation and understand what they are playing for. It’s crucial to remain united and fight for the game.”

Federico Chiesa starts on the bench at the Allianz Stadium tonight with Dusan Vlahovic and Angel Di Maria in attack. Fabio Miretti replaces Nicolò Fagioli in the middle of the park, while Alex Sandro gets the nod in defence with his Brazilian compatriots Danilo and Gleison Bremer.
