Juventus have confirmed that Paulo Dybala and Daniele Rugani will be out of action for circa 10 days after muscular injuries.

The pair were both present at the J-Medical centre this morning for tests, which ruled out more serious damage such as lesions.

A statement has now been released, confirming Dybala has sustained an elongation of the semi-tendinous muscle in the left thigh.

His recovery time is estimated to be circa 10 days.

Rugani pulled out during the warm-up of Friday’s 1-1 Serie A draw with Torino and he too has been diagnosed with an elongation of the femoral bicep muscle in his left thigh.

Here too, the time expected for a full recover is circa 10 days.

That means both Dybala and Rugani are out of Tuesday’s Champions League trip to Villarreal, but also the next Serie A clash with Empoli on February 26.

Both hope to be back for the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final against Fiorentina on March 2.

  1. This is why the 10 million contract for Dybala makes no sense. He is ALWAYS injured when the UCL knockout stages start. Who wants to pay a guy 10 million just for league games? He is skillful, but Juve need more than that, They need a fighter, and a one who is actually fit

  2. Please don’t give this guy a new contract… Even when he’s fit it’s a coinflip whether or not he has a good game…

  3. Maybe Ramsey was right and the practices of the training staff at Juventus make players more prone to injuries! It’s not like Juve players are super fit and can run the marathon every game. In fact most of the time they are outrun by players of other teams, but they are still alarmingly vulnerable to injuries whether they are old or young. Juve management should look into this. That’s not normal!

  4. @Al, you have a point. I remember few years ago, i read an article about how English clubs train their players. It’s quite different with how Italian clubs do. In England, they train lightly to make up with so many games to play in high speed tempo. I also recall Evra said football match in England is like boxing match. They who tire out first will likely loss.

  5. @Chris JP i second you in your Suggestion Dybala is not worth for Juve playing 2 – 3 Weeks and the 4th Week out injured , He should be sold with an immediate effect come end of Season and instead bring in proven No.10 who may partner Vlahovic upfront , Though I don’t see any one in Serie-A who can feel Delpiero boot

  6. I read that most of the serious knee injuries take place on the Roma pitch that is due to be remade.

And regarding Juventus medical/training I agree that Ramsey made a valid point when he brought this up early fall, summer I think it was and everybody as ripping on him including Juv admin but I have to agree with what Ramsey said.

  7. @Musti – Juve can’t sell him because his contract runs out. So he is out without Juve getting a cent for him.
