The Premier League had seemed to be the most likely option, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp a long-time admirer of the 23-year-old Argentine.

Everton, Chelsea, West Ham United, Arsenal and even Hull City have also shown an interest.

According to Telelombardia and the Corriere dello Sport, Juventus are prepared to pay €25m for Paredes in the January transfer window.

The asking price is €25m plus €5m in bonuses.

They want more creative midfield options and Paredes would essentially be an understudy to Miralem Pjanic, much as he was at Roma last season.

The Giallorossi were forced to sell Pjanic, as Juventus activated his release clause, but would be very hesitant to hand over Paredes as well.
