Inter have been active on the transfer market mid-season, bringing in Roberto Gagliardini from Atalanta.

“We have done what we needed to do and Gagliardini settled in very well, despite the fact it’s not easy to play at San Siro.

“Inter are not inferior to any of the teams ahead of us in the table. Our project just happened to start behind schedule. We are building something here and need to focus on every detail. Time will tell if we are on the right track.

“I didn’t know Stefano Pioli before this experience and tried to get information. I was surprised to see how maniacal he is dealing with details, of every little thing that happens to the players or around the team.

“I’ve seen many Coaches come and go through here and he’s got the qualities to follow their footsteps. I see in Pioli the qualities of a great Coach. He will have a fine career and is proving that at Inter.”
