Juventus and a number of former and current stars celebrated the Old Lady’s 125th birthday today.

The Bianconeri were founded on November 1 1897 by students from the Massimo d’Azeglio Lyceum school in Turin and their first official match was played three years later against Torinese. Juventus went on to become the most successful team in Italian history, winning 36th league titles, 14 domestic cups and two Champions League titles.

Juventus celebrated their 125th birthday today, releasing a commemorative watch and a scarf made up of the key colours in the club’s history, pink, black and white.

Manuel Locatelli posted a photo of himself as a child wearing a Juventus shirt, saying: “One can write and say many things but sometimes words are not needed. Best wishes Juve.”

Former midfielder Claudio Marchisio, who spent almost his entire career with the Bianconeri, posted a video of himself playing for the club’s youth team, adding the caption: “Since childhood you have been my armour. You are sewn into my skin, you are part of my DNA. My eyes tell my story, my scars all my love. I have given everything for you, because you have given me everything. Forever, best wishes.”

Fan favourite defender Giorgio Chiellini shared a photo of himself saying goodbye to the Juventus fans upon his departure earlier this year, commenting: “Story of a great love! Best wishes Old Lady!”

Full back Juan Cuadrado shared some memorable moments of his time with Juventus, writing: “Grateful to God to be part of your history. Old Lady, happy birthday.”
