Juventus and Lazio have been hit with heavy fines as a result of their supporters’ behaviour over the weekend.
The Turin outfit were hit with a €25,000 penalty on Monday for their fans’ actions during the Sunday evening clash with Inter.

A majority of the fine relates to racist chants aimed towards two of the Nerazzurri’s players during the first half of the game that the Old Lady eventually won 2-0. The rest of the fine is explained as the result of chants interrupting the pre-match minute of silence and for the banner displayed at half-time insulting Inter President Massimo Moratti.
Lazio similarly were handed a €20,000 fine after their fans were also found guilty of directing racist chants towards a Cagliari player during their Sunday afternoon game at the Stadio Olimpico.
It is not the first fine for racist chants for either club – Juve were fined €20,000 just last week for the same offence committed against Milan during the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final at the Juventus Stadium, whilst the month’s earlier Rome derby also saw Lazio penalised for racist chants aimed at Roma’s defender Juan.
